Mischulaikah Grüne Founder of OrthoFoodie

Mischulaikah was diagnosed in 2008, at just 24 years old, with Mixed Connective TissueDisease (MCTD). For years, she lived with the symptoms, doing what doctors told her, taking the medications that were meant to help, yet they hadn’t been working for a long time. By early 2022, after giving birth to her fourth child, she reached a point where she knew something had to change. Her body was giving up, and she feared that if she didn’t take control, her children might grow up without her.

That moment became the turning point. She started searching for ways to help herself, exploring courses and new perspectives on health. The first one didn’t resonate, but the second was a revelation, the goldmine she had been  searching for. It became the spark that led her to begin a four-year study in Functional Medicine.

On September 26th, 2022, she made a life-altering decision to stop all medication cold turkey. She knew the risks, the pain, the inflammation, the possibility of not being able to walk, and soon enough, all of it came true. For six long weeks, she could barely move. She cried from the pain, yet never gave up. Because deep down, she needed to know if her body could heal itself when given the right conditions.
And it did. Slowly, through study, testing, and relentless curiosity, she began rebuilding herself, nutrient by nutrient, cell by cell. She gave her body what it needed to function again, and in return, it began to show up for her.

During her first year of study, Mischulaikah decided to dig deeper. She ran advanced tests to uncover the true cause behind her years of inflammation and immune dysfunction. What she discovered changed everything. Mold exposure, primarily Aspergillus, had been silently disrupting her body for years. During her time living in a house on St. Maarten, she had unknowingly inhaled toxic mold spores that had taken root in her system.

Mold, she learned, can mimic other diseases in the body. Its toxins can trigger autoimmune-like reactions, confuse the immune system, and cause the body to attack its own tissues. For years, she had been treating the symptoms of something her body was only trying to fight off. Once she understood this, everything began to make sense: the inflammation, the fatigue, the pain, and the mysterious overlap of symptoms that never truly fit any single diagnosis.

That realization didn’t just free her from fear; it gave her direction. She began to focus on supporting her body’s detox pathways, repairing her gut, restoring her mitochondria, and replenishing every nutrient that mold had depleted. Step by step, she watched her body recover.

During her healing journey, Mischulaikah searched for an app that could help her understand what her body truly needed. Something that could give her real insight into her nutrient levels, help her balance deficiencies, and guide her choices based on how her body was functioning. But it didn’t exist. There were apps for calories, macros, and diets, but none that focused on the why behind what we eat.

So she decided to build it herself.

At the end of 2022, she started developing what would become OrthoFoodie, a platform designed to help people take back control of their health through awareness, education, and intelligent guidance. OrthoFoodie is built on the same principles that helped her heal: giving the body what it needs, understanding how food affects every system, and trusting that when supported correctly, the body can find its way back to balance.

Most of us never give our bodies the chance to feel the way they truly could, the way they are meant to. We deprive ourselves of the nutrients, the balance, and the attention our bodies need to function at their best. But why? Why not give ourselves that gift? Aren’t we worthy of feeling well?

The truth is, when you start giving your body what it really needs, it shows up for you in ways you might not believe at first. It starts to whisper again, gently, patiently, reminding you that it’s always been on your side. Your body isn’t broken. It’s been protecting you, adapting, doing its best with what it’s been given.

I’ve lived through the moments when it felt impossible, when pain and exhaustion made me doubt everything. But I’ve also felt what happens when you listen, when you feed your body what it’s been asking for all along. You begin to wake up differently. You feel energy return, clarity return, you return

You can have that too. Your body remembers the way back, to healing, to strength, to balance. All it needs is your permission to begin. Trust it, give it what it needs, and it will rise for you every single time.

Today, that is the heartbeat of OrthoFoodie. What began as one woman’s search for healing has grown into a movement that helps others reconnect with their bodies and take back their power through knowledge and nourishment. Mischulaikah’s mission is simple yet profound: to help people understand their biology, to make conscious eating effortless, and to remind the world that healing begins not with perfection, but with awareness. OrthoFoodie is more than an app. It is an invitation to rediscover what your body is capable of when you finally give it what it deserves.
